Five held in search operation in Bari Imam area

Officials also recovered 30 litres of illicit liquor from the suspects

ISLAMABAD: In a joint operation conducted by the Islamabad Police and Rangers in the Bari Imam area of the capital on Saturday, as many as five suspects were nabbed, a police spokesperson said.

“Following the National Action Plan, officers of the Islamabad Police, Rangers and other security agencies conducted a search operation in Bari Imam and its adjoining areas,” the spokesperson said.

He added that officials checked 70 houses, searched 120 people and nabbed five suspects who are being investigated further. Moreover, officials also recovered 30 litres of illicit liquor from the suspects.

Islamabad SSP-Operations Sajid Kiani said that the purpose of the search operation and high vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city as he further directed all SHOs to continue sweeps in their respective areas.
