Govt house illegally occupied by CDA official vacated

Officials say action initiated against civic agency officials involved in occupying house

ISLAMABAD: A government-provided-house, which was allegedly being occupied by an officer of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has been vacated.

According to a statement released by the civic agency, CDA Assistant Director Sher Muhammad Makoo was allegedly illegally occupying a house, no: 380-E, on 58 street in Sector G-6/4. The house was occupied reportedly with assistance from the concerned enquiry clerk.



The house had subsequently been transferred to the CDA pool from the Estate Office Pool on April 14, 2017, so that CDA could allot it to the next senior most officer who qualified.

However, when the CDA administration discovered that the house was being occupied by an official of the civic body.

Disciplinary action was initiated against the officer and official involved.

Moreover, with assistance from the security staff, the assistant director was evicted and the house was vacated from illegal occupants while officials were deputed at the house to keep it from being illegally occupied.

“The Estate Office has made the allotment in violation of the rules as the house could only be allotted by the CDA in accordance with the seniority list. Therefore, allotment made by the Estate Office is illegal as it is not competent to allot CDA Accommodation,” the CDA statement read.



Later, CDA Member Administration said that they would ensure that government accommodation is allotted to employees on merit.

Further, the member said that all affairs of the CDA, including allotment of residential accommodation, would be made in a transparent manner.
