Eid ul Fitr arrangements: Bahawalpur police all set to counter threats

DPO says security at public places has been put on high alert

BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur police issued security plan for Eidul Fitr on Friday. As part of the strategy, 389 spots across the district, where Eid prayers would be held, had been identified while 2,174 police officials will be deployed to perform security duty.

While speaking to The Express Tribune, Bahawalpur District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Akhtar Abbas said in a bid to ensure foolproof security on Eidul Fitr, a comprehensive security plan had been constituted.



He added the security arrangements had been divided into three parts: pre-Eid prayer arrangements, Eidul Fitr day arrangements and post-Eidul Fitr arrangements.

The DPO maintained that for pre-Eid arrangements, a security plan had been devised to provide safety to the people on Chand Raat. Besides, he said traffic police personnel would be deployed at bazaars, markets, shopping centres etc to maintain smooth flow of traffic. For Eid day security arrangements, heavy contingent of police would be deployed at Eidgahs and mosques, Abbas pointed out.
