PESHAWAR: The child who was injured in the celebratory fire on Sunday after Pakistan beat arch-rival India to win the ICC Champions Trophy passed away on Wednesday.

The six-year-old Noeen Shah was injured in the celebratory fire and as n coma.

"My son passed away," Layeq Shah the child’s father confirmed to The Express Tribune. "His [Noeen Shah] funeral will be offered on Thursday (today) in Risalpur."

Shah was fighting for his life in a private hospital in Peshawar after being hit by stray bullet in the celebratory fire on Sunday.

He had suffered head injuries and the bullet had hit near his brain after which he went into coma.

"My son fought for life for over 60 hours but did not recover," the father said.

At least one person died in Lower Dir while nearly 33 people were reportedly injured in various districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) owing to aerial firing.
