Younis to play for Surrey county

May 19, 2010

LONDON: Younis Khan signed a contract to play for English county Surrey on Wednesday.

The former Pakistan cricket captain’s contract allows him to play for the county till mid-July.

Surrey had been linked with West Indian legend Brian Lara but instead opted for Khan.

Earlier, Khan was indefinitely banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board in March, along with former captain Muhammad Yousuf on charges of "infighting which resulted in a negative influence on the team."

Khan is expected to arrive at The Oval by next week.
