Bilateral Ties: Pakistan, Lebanon to boost trade links

The delegation signed four MoUs with different associations and chambers of commerce in Lebanon

KARACHI: A high-profile delegation comprising 28 business dignitaries from various business sectors of Pakistan visited Lebanon on the invitation of Lebanon Prime Minister Saad Hariri from May 13-18, 2017. The delegation, headed by FPCCI Vice President Irfan Sarwana, held several meetings with government officials and business community representatives of Lebanon. During the meetings, Sarwana apprised the hosts of Pakistan’s business-friendly environment and the attractive opportunities it offered to foreign investors in several areas including agriculture, capital goods, sports and surgical instruments. The delegation signed four MoUs with different associations and chambers of commerce in Lebanon. Sarwana underscored the importance of tapping the unexplored markets due to the significant trade imbalance between Pakistan and other OIC countries.
