Mashal lynching: Suspects appear before ATC in Mardan

Hearing will begin on July 5

MARDAN: Suspects behind Mashal Khan’s lynching were presented in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Mardan on Monday, and the judge instructed their lawyers to prepare their defence for the hearing which will formally begin next month.

During the hearing conducted in Mardan jail, the police and other relevant departments produced 57 suspects before the ATC.

The court also shared the record of the charges levelled against the suspects with their lawyers.

ATC Judge Younas Khan also informed the lawyers that due to security reasons and an application submitted by Mashal khan’s father Iqbal khan, in the high court, the case would be shifted to anther district. However the judge did not reveal the name of the district where the case would be shifted.

Five more suspects held in Mashal Khan lynching case

Some of the relatives of the suspects were also present in the court, but they were not allowed to attend the hearing. The case has been adjourned till July 5.
