The metropolis echoed with gunshots soon after Pakistan routed their arch rivals by 180 runs in an astonishing match at The Oval in London.

Those injured included an employee of a private news channel who took a stray bullet to his head as he stood outside the residence of Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed in Bufferzone area of the city for media coverage. Shariq, assistant engineer DSNG at 24 News, was said to be in critical condition at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Other injured were identified as 22-year-old Hira, 70-year-old Zulekha, 45-year-old Nasir Yusuf, who were hit by stray bullets in Nazimabad, Napier and Jamshed Quarters respectively.
The injured were taken to different government-run hospitals, including JPMC, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Civil Hospital, for treatment.
