China urges enhanced military cooperation with Pakistan

China has urged Pakistan to increase military cooperation between the two countries for regional peace and stability.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) General Zubair Hayat met China's communist party leader Yu Zhengsheng in Beijing to discuss military-to-military cooperation, according to a statement on Friday.

“Zhennsheng called on both sides to enhance military cooperation to safeguard the security of both the countries, as well as regional peace and stability,” it said.

General Hayat assured of cooperation, saying army will provide security to Chinese engineers and technicians working on the projects affiliated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Zhengsheng appreciated Pakistan’s firm support to China in fighting against terrorism.
