Pakistan team thanks fans, asks for more prayers

Men in Green want as much support as possible in Champions Trophy final

Pakistan's road to the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy has been nothing short of miraculous.

After their horrendous display in the lopsided defeat to India, not many thought Pakistan would make it out of their group, let alone qualify for the final.

But they overcame all odds and are now just one win away from becoming the champions of a tournament they had trouble qualifying for.

Some feel such a run for such massive underdogs couldn't have been possible without the prayers of millions and millions of Pakistanis.

If that's the case, even more prayers will be needed for the final, and the team has asked their fans to do just that in a newly released video by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

"Pray for us that we also win the final," says the young Shadab Khan before Fakhar Zaman chips in with: "Congratulations everyone! Pakistan Zindabad!"

"Very happy, very proud, boys were awesome" said coach Mickey Arthur, while semi-final hero Hassan Ali added: "I'm very thankful to Allah. Pray for us so we win the final and bring the cup as an Eid gift."

"Keep believing and keep praying for us," Mohammad Hafeez aka the Professor told the fans, whereas his fellow all-rounder Shoaib Malik said: "Congratulations! It's the month of Ramazan, keep praying so Allah blesses us all."

israr | 7 years ago | Reply @ramallah khan: islam is not like any other religion , its a deen a way of life it shows us and advises us how to eat, drink , walk, what to eat, what to wear how to wear and when things do not happen for us like the india game we muslims do not complain however we thanks Allah for the good things happen to us... let me quickly give u an example, I desperately wanted to stay in a job I prayed and everything, however inspite of all my prayers I was kicked out, the kicking out part hurt me I was not sure what will happen how will I pay the bills, next week I got two good news one I got another job, the week lost I got paid for by the same company who kicked me out and lastly I got an extra month's pay because of some clause in the contract I never knew and never asked so Allah is like u said there everywhere but its the belief that separates us from rest so we thank Allah or should I say Thanks to Allah :) we love Allah and we know Allah loves us and its Ramadan our main player is Ramadan :) Weldone to Pakistan for coming this far and I hope we crosses the line, Allah says just work hard and be sure about it and leave the rest on me if that is best for you I will grant you if not I will stop it as there might be something even better

ramallah khan | 7 years ago | Reply Why associate everything with religion. Allah will always be there in all your good acts. Believe in yourself first and Allah will assist. Look at other teams they do not thank Jesus Christ or Sri Ram after their wins. Then Allah was unhappy with Pakistan at that time they lost to India? No its just performance that matters.
