Winner of the American Music Awards, People's Choice Awards and more, Katy Perry said that all the awards she has won are fake, reported The New York Times

“All the awards shows are fake,” she said, “and all the awards that I’ve won are fake,” the Roar hitmaker added, explaining that they don’t represent the audience. “They’re constructs.”

Talking about the moment of her awakening, and how it changed her life, Perry reminisced how in the elections last year, after Clinton's defeat, when she and Lady Gaga, another avid supporter of the Democratic candidate, held hands as the results were announced.

I’m sorry for anything I ever did: Katy Perry apologises to Taylor Swift

“Gaga and I just looking at each other, and being like, [expletive] it, we need to touch each other,” Perry said.

However, she doesn't feel like the old Kart Perry wasn’t a construct. She explained that the singer who crooned Teenage Dream isn’t dead. “I didn’t kill her, because I love her, and she is exactly what I had to do then,” she said. “And I’m not a con artist, I didn’t con people, like, that was just me. And this is me now.”

Katy Perry returns as a sultry 30-something with new album 'Witness'

Though some of the subject matter is thorny and emotional some described the making of  her latest album, Witness as “the most joyful professional process they have ever experienced.” And Perry said she’s the happiest she’s ever been.

“It’s a departure, and it’s a necessary evolution that I have to take,” Perry added.
