Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah laid foundation stone of new state-of-the art copy branch building at the LHC on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the LHC chief justice said that the verdict copy was an important document for every litigant.
He said that facilities at the existing copy branch were inadequate. Latest plan was prepared for new state of the art copy branch.
Earlier in April, the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) had decided to construct bridges to connect the Cooperative Building, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Complex and a mosque block to provide easy excess to lawyers and litigants at the court.
Easy excess: Bridges planned to connect court buildings
This was decided in a meeting of LBA cabinet members held on Sunday after all entry points were closed at civil courts for security purposes.
The LBA cabinet had sent a proposal to the Lahore High Court chief justice for approval and the construction work would start on bridges in the next few months, said LBA vice-president Chaudhary Irfan Sadiq Tarar while talking to The Express Tribune.
According to the cabinet members, it has become difficult for lawyers and litigants to reach their courts from one building to another building because of closure of most entrances points. Therefore, they have decided to constructed bridges to connect these building.
He said for security reasons, most entry and exit points had been closed following the recent wave of terrorism. Therefore, lawyers and litigants find it very difficult to reach their concerned courts, he said, adding that keeping this situation in view they had decided to connect the buildings. He said bridges were constructed on second floors of the buildings.
