France and Roma centre-back Philippe Mexes will miss the rest of the season after undergoing a successful knee operation, which will require a four-month recovery period. The defender was forced off during Sunday’s 2-0 Serie A defeat to Juventus. His ouster is a blow for France who have Euro 2012 qualifiers lined up starting from June.
