Balochistan budget to be presented on June 15

Rs80 billion has been proposed to be allocated under the development head

QUETTA: The Balochistan budget for fiscal year 2017-18 with a total outlay of Rs321.67 billion is scheduled to be unveiled on June 15 instead of June 12 as had been announced earlier.

Provincial finance department sources told APP on Monday that Rs80 billion has been proposed to be allocated under the development head while Rs38 billion each will be set aside for education and law and order departments in the next provincial budget.

Health department will receive an amount of Rs35 billion in the provincial budget. The province will have revenues of Rs24.1 billion under the oil and gas surcharge while the remaining funds will come from the federal divisible pool. An amount of Rs76 billion has also been proposed under the newly created Chief Minister Divisional Development Programme.

Some 6,000 new vacancies will be created in various provincial departments during the next fiscal year.
