KARACHI: The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) issued on Thursday notices to two lawyers who had allegedly thrashed two reporters for filming them searching a woman at the City Courts premises.

Two private TV channels' reporters, Junaid Shah and Waqas Aurangzeb, along with other journalists had filed a written application to the SBC seeking legal action against two lawyers allegedly involved in manhandling them.

Shah and Aurangzeb informed in the application that they were allegedly beaten up and locked up for around half an hour inside the City Courts premises on Tuesday.

Lawyers 'thrash' two reporters in Karachi for 'filming them searching a woman'

The reporters said they were going to court when they saw two lawyers, Advocate GM Syed and Advocate Hasnain, chasing a woman. Shah started recording the scene with his mobile phone when the lawyers caught the woman and began physically searching her.

The council was informed that the two lawyers were infuriated when they found out that they were being filmed. At first they snatched the mobile phone and then, accompanied by other lawyers, they started hitting the reporters.
