Lisa Bridgett was at the concert of US star Ariana Grande with her daughter and her daughter's friend. At the end of the concert, Lisa was using her phone when the blast took place.

She suffered multiple injuries including a fractured ankle caused by shrapnel and a bullet wound to her thigh. She has also lost a middle finger in what could had proved to be a fatal injury when a steel nut hit her finger before going through her phone and cheek, eventually lodging in her nose.

Her husband, Steve Birdgett, in a Facebook post claimed that it was probably the phone that not only diverted but also slowed down the nut.

“The fact she was on her phone at the time as probably saved her life.....as the nut has hit her phone which has more than likely not only diverted it, but also slowed it down considerably,” wrote Steve.
He added that his wife was in a positive mood and felt very lucky to be alive after witnessing the harrowing incident first-hand.
