Govt to set up a cardiac institute
The minister said every year around 40,000 to 50,000 children in Pakistan are born with congenital heart disease

Thousands of children are waiting for the cardiac surgery in the country. Therefore to overcome this issue Pakistan Children Heart Foundation and the Punjab government will establish a centre of excellence cardiac institute for children in Lahore.
This was stated by Punjab Minister Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique. He was addressing a meeting to review the project for establishing the centre of excellence institute on Tuesday.
In Neelum hospital, patients await doctors
The minister said every year around 40,000 to 50,000 children in Pakistan are born with congenital heart disease. Prof. Masood Sadiq informed the meeting that after completion of extension plan, capacity of the hospital has been increased as 600 beds and 16 operation theatres have been included in the new block.
