Forever 21 is selling out Kolhapuris for $48 and our desi heart doesn't buy it!

Kolhapuri sympathisers are clearly having a field day on Twitter

KARACHI: Remember the good ol' comfortable Kolhapuris?

If you are a shoe buff like myself, there is no way you do not own at least three or four pairs of these sandals from heaven. So comfortable, casual and down right affordable.

Kolhapuris are readily available across Pakistan at shopping places such as Tariq Road, Liberty, Saddar or Aashiyana with the starting price of mere $3.

But hey, seems like the west is making sure to sell our very affordable comfort shoes way too expensive! Do we have another Peshwari chapal-turned-Paul Smith signature story in the making? Perhaps, yes.

Retail brand, Forever 21 just introduced Kolhapuris as "Studio Caleidoscope Sandals" and that too for $48!

As a result, desis around the world, who are likely to own 27894 pairs of the very same sandals, freaked out and rightly so!

One Twitter user wrote: "Forever 21 out here selling "studio caleidoscope sandals" THEYRE CHAPALS I CAN GET THESE FOR $5 FROM SABZI MANDI B***H"
