Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan's former wife Jemima Goldsmith said on Thursday she has succeeded in tracking down documents to provide a money trail for the purchase of the Bani Gala estate.

"Finally tracked down 15-year-old bank statements to prove Imran Khan money trail/ innocence in court. Now please go after the real crooks...," Jemima tweeted.

Following the statement, PTI's official Twitter account also posted that the money trail has been established and the case 'demolished', although the court has yet to decide on the matter.

Imran's Bani Gala residence declared illegal

Imran's ex-wife help came after PTI's counsel had admitted before the Supreme Court that it was an omission on the part of his client that he did not disclose his offshore company in his asset details submitted before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

When the SC’s three-judge bench on Wednesday resumed hearing of a petition seeking the PTI chief’s disqualification, counsel Naeem Bukhari contended that if the apex court declares that Imran was obliged to declare his offshore company then it should be considered an ‘omission’ not ‘dishonesty’.

“We will do everything – like summoning the record or asking for a detailed probe – to find out the truth,” remarked the chief justice," Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar had said on May 25.
