The emergency services, called Cares 1122 had received 170 calls during the second week of the month.
The figures were unveiled during a meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters on Wednesday to review the performance of the emergency services.
The meeting was chaired by Islamabad Mayor and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz.
Cares 1122 received 170 calls for different emergencies from May 6 to 12. Most of these emergencies, 103, pertained to traffic accidents. The calls were received mostly from Zero Point Highway, Zia Masjid Stop, F-9 Park’s gate towards Sector G-9, Police Lines Signal on Kashmir Highway, PTCL Chowk in Sector F-8, Opposite Islamabad Club, Nazimuddin Road Sector F-11/4, Ninth Avenue, Sector I-8 exit, Lake view Park, Sector F-10 round about on Margalla Road, Chak Shahzad Road near Bani Galla, Peshawar Morr bridge, Sector F-6/1, Nazimul Din Road Zoo, Sector F-11/1, Embassy Road in Sector G-6/3, opposite COMSAT University, Dhokary Chowk, Malpur U-Turn, Faizabad Police Check Post, Dubai Hotel Kahota Road Sehala, IJP Road Faizabad, Sector G-13 PSO Petrol Pump, Sector G-9 signal, Sector I-10/1 Service Road and others.
Officials further said that Cares 1122 had received 34 calls regarding unconscious patients from different parts of the city including Pir Wadhai near Iron Bridge, Alipur Farash near ISI Building, Al-Imran Plaza in Sector I-10 Markaz, ICG Super Market, Sector G-15, Sector I-8/3, Sector G-6/1-1, Bhara Kahu, Koral Chowk and near Marriot Hotel.
The patients were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), CDA Hospital, Polyclinic and other nearby medical facilities.
Aziz was also told that calls regarding patients suffering from chest pain, heart problems, abdominal pain and other were also received during the period.
Moreover, CDA Cares 1122 had deployed its vehicles at five different locations around the city including at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, the Lok Virsa, D-Chowk, and other areas on request of different departments to cope with any emergency situation.
Aziz said that for the first time Cares emergency service was being expanded to rural areas as well while cares offices had been established at different selected locations which are thronged by people.
