He was first rushed to a local hospital where doctors after referred him to the DHQ. At the hospital, the family of the boy claimed that doctors provided him with first aid but did not bother to do follow through to see how the boy had been doing despite the fact that the boy cried of pain during the entire period he was admitted.
The next morning on May 23, the boy died of his injuries.
Incensed, his family protested against what they termed as negligence of the doctors which resulted in the death of their child.
PMDC President Prof Dr Shabbir Lehri subsequently wrote a letter to the DHQ Hospital in Rawalpindi. In the letter, Dr Lehri expressed serious concerns over allegations of negligence by doctors in the incident.
