Pakistan’s first luxury intercity bus service

Luxury bus service has raised the bar for all bus service providers

ISLAMABAD: QConnect, a new intercity bus service between Islamabad and Lahore, has redefined the meaning of road travel. It feels like the business class of a high-end airline at a comparatively reasonable rate, though not as reasonable as Daewoo and other bus services. But perhaps, they are not looking to compete with these services and are simply offering a luxurious means of travel to those who are willing to pay extra.

The buses consist of 21 seats each in total. This allows the seating to feel quite spacious, providing a lot of leg room for everyone. The seats recline all the way to the back with a footrest as well. Every seat has its own 19-inch TV screen which offers a world of entertainment. Another value added service is the provision of charging sockets with every seat and every seat has its own reading lamp, a night light and an AC vent above it.

It also offers food prepared and packed by Kitchen Cuisine. After a delicious meal and a dessert, the bus hostess offered coffee that tasted closer to one you’d expect to be served at a coffee shop. Another plus point is that they have a restroom on board.

As QConnect is in its early stages, it only operates between Islamabad and Lahore right now, though I hope they expand to include Karachi in the future. It has definitely raised the bar for all bus service providers.
