"I don’t think of all the misery, but of all the beauty that remains," Anne Frank once said.

We all have varied approaches to deal with our griefs, our hard times. Being grown ups, we usually render to bottle it up and somehow try and get through it, but what do you tell a three year old, whose grandma has been diagnosed with breast cancer?

Feminism through the lens of photographers

Ashley Larson remembers the time when she had to break it to her toddler, Scout Penelope, regarding her grandma's frail health.

"We were looking for a way to keep our minds busy during a really hard time. The project all started when Scout’s grandma, her 'Nonnie', was diagnosed with breast cancer," revealed Ashley as she penned down how Nonnie inspired three year-old Scout that women are fighters!

"When Nonnie’s hair started to fall out, Scout got very concerned and I wanted to put both of our minds at ease. I needed to teach her and remind myself that women are fighters! We chose famous & fierce women to teach her about the strength that women have," she said.

"We had put together a list of people to shoot and I taught Scout a little bit about each person. Scout was learning first hand just how amazing and strong women can be. So we just kept shooting. We planned that at the end of it all, we’d make a picture book for both Scout and Nonnie," she added.

It’s an art: Creative minds get to strut their stuff

She went on to say, "The entire project was such a godsend for Scout and myself. And showing my mom the end result - priceless. Every single minute I spent planning, styling, shooting, and editing was 100% worth it."
