Top officials of a Chinese company, which had inked an agreement to set up a refinery in K-P, visited Peshawar on Monday. The Jereh Group had inked an agreement with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas company (KPOGCL) on April 19, 2017, in Beijing to set up the 15,000 barrels-per-day-capacity refinery. To be set up as joint venture partnership between the two companies, the refinery is expected to cater to the needs of exploration companies operating in the region. KPOGCL will act as the facilitator and provide one-window operations to the Jereh Group ranging from security to ground-breaking ceremony for execution of the project. In this regard, Jereh Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) He LI visited Peshawar and discussed ways to take the agreement forward. He met with Energy and Power Secretary Engineer Naeem Khan, Planning and Development Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, KPOGCL CEO Raziuddin and KPOGCL DGM Nouman Akbar along with their technical team. Li said that the Jereh Group was quite interested in taking the project forward after due consideration of all the possibilities.
