LAHORE: Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court (LHC) reserved his judgment on Monday  on a petition challenging the appointment of Shoaib Bin Aziz as press secretary of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Petitioner Sheraz Zaka filed a petition stating that Shoaib, while serving as director general of public relations department, had been found guilty in by the anti-corruption department of bogus payments to an advertising agency. It added criminal proceedings were pending against Shoaib for the last three years. Sheraz said that Shoaib was a retired government officer and that should not be appointed as a press secretary as similar task was being performed by the secretary of information and public relations. He added that his appointment would amount to waste the public money.
