RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Rawalpindi Region has completed its investigation against a police official over alleged corruption and has submitted the report and charge sheet with the trial court.

The ACE has subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Inspector Malik Asif Nawaz, a senior official of ACE said on Wednesday.

Inspector Nawaz had been accused of corruption while serving as the SHO of Rawat police station.

The ACE official said that they had obtained permission from the legal branch for initiating judicial action against the police official.

The legal branch of ACE Rawalpindi Region, in response to a letter number ACE-RR-(34)-2015/2387 had recommended judicial action against Inspector Nawaz.

Further, he said that that following the judicial action, investigators collected evidence and recorded the statement of the complainant.

A complete report of the investigation had also been sent to anti-corruption court while raids were being conducted to nab the officer.

It may here be noted that ACE Rawalpindi Region had lodged a case under Sections 161 of PPC and 5(2) 47 PCA on the complaint of a citizen Bilal Yamin Satti, who had accused the police inspector of taking Rs100,000 as a bribe.
