Celebrating change-makers

Letter May 25, 2017
Dad has been working tirelessly in making the cyberspace a safe place for women

ISLAMABAD: The news of Nighat Dad being selected as a TedGlobal 2017 fellow comes as a hope for a country where women are often held back from positions of leadership. The lawyer and director of the Digital Rights Foundation will be representing Pakistan and joining 20 other change-makers to deliver a talk in Tanzania.

Dad has been working tirelessly in making the cyberspace a safe place for women. For the past few years she has been educating Pakistanis, working in different fields, regarding their digital rights and how to respond to harassment online. Now, she will be enlightening her Western audience and the nation cannot be more proud of her achievement.
