KARACHI: Education Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar denied speculations that Government Muneeba School, in Federal B Area's Block 6, has been handed over to land encroachers.
"No land mafia will be allowed to occupy the said school at any cost," he said, adding that he has asked the authorities concerned to look into the matter and report back to him.
Dahar also directed School Education Secretary Abdul Aziz Uqaili to assign at least two watchmen at the school during summer vacations to avoid any untoward incidents and keep a vigilant eye on the activities of the land mafia at the school.

The minister also directed Karachi's director of schools to coordinate with the parents of the students and start limited classes at the school during summer vacations in order to deter encroachers from illegally occupying the school building.
"We are trying to keep the school working so that it cannot be occupied by the land mafia. The school administration, with the consent of the parents, can operate some summer camp programmes for a few hours a day or on alternative days," said Dahar, adding that the plan is not to interrupt the students' vacations but to ensure they learn something.
He assured the parents and students of the school that no one would be permitted to destroy their future and educational activities would continue at the school as per routine.
