TORONTO: An Uber driver was arrested in Toronto on kidnapping and assault charges after an 18-year-old woman told police she escaped his car after he made unwanted advances and then refused to let her out of the vehicle, Canadian authorities said on Tuesday.

Uber lauches new security feature to curb driver fraud

Sukhbaj Singh, 24, was arrested on Monday, a day after the woman reported the incident in Toronto. The woman was not identified by authorities.

Representatives of Uber Technologies Inc did not respond to requests for comment. Singh could not be reached.
