The Lahore Deputy Commissioner’s spokesperson told The Express Tribune that the city administration would try to set up 31 Ramazan Bazaars. “There are a few areas in Lahore where it will be difficult for authorities to establish Ramazan bazaars, but makeshift markets will be operational from Thursday,” he added.
Ramazan model bazaars unlikely to be revamped
District administration and the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) have already issued duty rosters of officials. The government asked the Punjab Livestock Department to make ensure the ample supply of mutton, beef, chicken and eggs at bazaars. Members of the purchase and market committees would coordinate with the private sector for the smooth supply of fruits, vegetable and other edibles.
