Sonam Kapoor was a radiant mess on the Cannes red carpet

Not the glow we were looking for!

The Neerja star projected disconcerting sunbeams in an iridescent pink Elie Saab gown for her first red carpet appearance at Cannes 2017. The dress comprised a plunging boat neck and a hip-hugging skirt that featured small train – redundant much?

And. Those. Sleeves. We comprehend that Sonam is a sucker for histrionic ensembles but those winding bell sleeves only amplified the confusion crafted by her stylist and sister Rhea Kapoor.  She is to blame I guess! The gown was cinched at the fashionista’s lithe waist with a tacky slim belt that seriously hurt our eyes! Those skinny belts aren’t much in vogue any way, and the mermaid-style skirt too shrieked monotony.

Did I mention that this particular shade of radiant pink dulled the diva’s complexion and took away from her natural glow?

Sonam upped the bling factor the gaudy haute couture gown with statement-making earrings and hand ornaments that were a tad too much – and so not fitting for Cannes.

With a messy tied-back hairdo that consisted of another one of those boring buns - and rosy-flushed make-up that exuded tedium more than dapper style, the Khoobsurat actor failed to make a lasting impression.
