KOHAT: Four policemen were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in Kohat on Saturday.

The deceased included SHO Khanullah, additional SHO Tahir Khan, Head Constable Tanveer and Constable Abid Khan, an official told The Express Tribune.

"Gunmen opened fire on their official vehicle from both sides of the road, all the four policemen died on the spot," Javed Iqbal, a district police officer in Kohat, told AFP.

A search operation was launched in the area but the attackers involved in the incident reportedly escaped.
