A bullet-riddled body of a policeman was found in Bannu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Friday morning, within the jurisdiction of Maryan police station.
The deceased, Muhammad Asghar, was posted at the provincial counter-terrorism department (CTD) and abducted a few days ago, a police official told The Express Tribune. Asghar's family had also lodged an FIR in this regard.
He was tortured to death before being shot in the head, according to the autopsy report.
After the body was recovered, the deceased’s family members and relatives protested against police and district administration, and blocked the Bannu Miryan road for traffic.
