Officials said that they had arrested two suspects who were allegedly involved in killing Major Zeeshan Qamar, who had been shot dead as he resisted three armed robbers. The young thieves, aged between 18 and 22 years, had barged into Major Qamar’s house on the afternoon of November 3. When the army man tried to tackle and resist them, the robbers killed him.

Police were unable to find any clue to the suspects and the case had been pending ever since.
However, officials said that they stumbled across the suspects while questioning suspects in a case of sexually assaulting a Chinese woman in her house in Sector I-10 in April this year.
The suspects were identified as Gul Haleem, Sher Muhammad, Qasim Ali, Azhar, and Gul Kher. Four of the suspects are Afghan nationals.
During investigations of the rape case, the suspects allegedly confessed to a number of robberies and burglaries in the area, including the botched attempt that led to Major Qamar’s death.
