Suspended Pakistan opener Nasir Jamshed lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a video released on his official twitter account on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old, who is alleged to be the main perpetrator behind the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal, is currently in England where he is undergoing an investigation by the English authorities.

PCB suspends Nawaz for two months

Jamshed, in the video message, claimed that PCB is treating him unfairly by putting other players under pressure in his absence.

“PCB is being unfair with me,” Jamshed says in the video. “The board officials are pressurising players to give statements against me. It seems that they just want to malign me.”

He then challenged the PCB to present the evidence which they have against him. “If they really have any evidence against me, I challenge them to present it to the media. Such allegations are affecting my personal life.”

Spot-fixing trial against Sharjeel, others underway

Jamshed remarks came after PCB’s legal advisor Taffazull Rizvi claimed on Wednesday that all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz was contacted by bookies through Jamshed. “Nawaz was not contacted by bookies; he was approached by Nasir,” he said.

Jamshed, who represented the Pakistan in two Tests, 48 ODIs and 18 T20Is, further said that he will take the PCB to the court and ask them to prove the allegations against him. “My lawyers are looking into the details and we will take PCB to the court to prove their allegations against me.”

The spot-fixing scandal, which rocked PSL’s second edition, has already seen five other players suspended including Islamabad United’s trio of Mohammad Irfan, Khalid Latif, Sharjeel Khan, Karachi King’s Shahzaib Hasan and Quetta Gladiator’s Nawaz.
