ALGIERS: Air Algerie flights in and from the North African country resumed Tuesday after negotiations between management and staff ended a brief strike.

Public radio reported that the labour action had ended several hours after it began.

The wildcat strike had blocked all domestic and outbound international services but not Air Algerie flights from abroad.

It had been called "mainly over salary demands", Mounia Bertouche, an Air Algerie spokesperson, told AFP before the negotiations had concluded.

In the capital Algiers alone more than 68 flights were suspended.
