ISLAMABAD: Senior NAB Prosecutor Arif Ali Chauhan was dismissed on Tuesday.
Chauhan was dismissed over the summoning of PPP leader Nusrat Bhutto in the Cotecna reference. The NAB prosecutor had asked the accountability court to summon Bhutto, despite the request of exemption made by the NAB chairman.
The Supreme Court, had taken strong notice of Chauhan's irresponsible attitude and had directed the NAB chairman to take strict action against him. Terming Chohan's stance illegal, the apex court exempted Begum Nusrat Bhutto from personal appearance before the court on medical grounds.
Sources said Chauhan has been dismissed following instructions by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
