ISLAMABAD: Three men suspected of involvement in illegal kidney transplants were arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) crime circle team in a raid at Massonite Hotel in Murree on Thursday.

According to sources, the alleged ring leader, Saqib Khan, his associate, Fazayil, and brother-in-law, Qamar, were living near Kalash valley in Chitral.

On Wednesday night, the three men travelled to Faisalabad to pick up a friend before fleeing to Murree. The FIA team chased the suspects all the way from Faisalabad to Murree's Massonite Hotel.

Illegal Kidney Trade: Two suspected organ traffickers held 

Last month, the Ministry of Interior had empowered the FIA through legislation to take action against human organ trafficking. The ministry had issued a notification for placing the Transplantation Human Organ and Tissue Act 2010 on the Schedule of FIA Act 1974 vide entry number 33 for further necessary legal action.
