PM Nawaz leads high-level delegation to China

Nawaz leaves for two-day visit to attend Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left for China along with a high-level delegation to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation summit to be held in Beijing, on Sunday.

The prime minister will attend the inaugural session of the summit as well as plenary meeting of a high-level dialogue and the state banquet, according to Radio Pakistan.

On the second day of the summit, PM Nawaz will attend the leaders’ round-table sessions besides meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang to further promote bilateral relations between the two nations.

PM confers with top aides ahead of foreign trips

During his visit, the premier is also expected to meet world leaders on the sidelines of Belt and Road Forum as he is due to participate in an investment conference and meet with business and corporate leaders.

The prime minister is accompanied by four chief ministers and some senior federal ministers, including Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Railways Saad Rafique, State Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastagir, Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for IT Anusha Rahman and Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz.



According to reports, several agreements are expected to be signed between Islamabad and Beijing in connection with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project during the visit. PM Nawaz will also visit Hangzhou and Hong Kong.
