Chaudhry reviews under-construction structure

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Thursday directed officials to make sure that the schedule for completing the new building of the bureau is followed without compromising on quality.

He said this while visiting the under-construction building in the Sector G-5/1 on Thursday to review progress on the ground and to inspect the pace and quality of work.

During the visit, Chaudhry was briefed by officials about the building.

PWD director general, chief engineer, PWD consultant and contractors told the NAB chief, construction work had been continuing at pace and the structure of the building has been completed.

Currently, they said, work on fixing glass and artificial granite, underground water interception system, aluminium foil around basement and electrification work was underway.

The pace of work on external development along with internal finishes such as false ceilings, PVC panelling are also near completion.

Moreover, heavy machinery such as generators, lifts, HVAC system have been arranged and would be installed shortly.

The NAB chief directed all concerned officials to make sure that the remaining work, including internal and external electrification work, procurement of lifts, public health work, are completed as per schedule without compromising on quality standards defined by PPRA rules.

He expressed his concerns over the delay in the completion of the project and emphasised for making all out efforts for completing the building as soon as possible.
