ISLAMABAD: A four-member squad of mountaineers have left the country for Kathmandu, Nepal, to climb Mount Everest, Secretary Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) Abu Zafar Sadiq said on Thursday. Talking to APP, he said the expedition – Pakistan Everest Expedition 2011 – has been organised with funds provided by the government. “The charm and challenge of Pakistan’s spectacular and lofty ranges of Karakoram, Hindukush and Western Himalayas have lured our local mountaineers for years and did not allow them to think of climbing outside Pakistan,” Zafar said.
