Despite the controversies, Uber is on a roll, at least in Pakistan, as it has expanded its services to another city in the country.

The ride-hailing service announced on Thursday it is now available in Gujranwala as well.

However, the residents of the town in Punjab can only opt for UberGo as Uber Rickshaw and UberX services have not been introduced so far.

The move reflects Uber’s aim to expand its operation in the region. Recently, the ride-hailing behemoth also launched its service in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Hyderabad.

Celebrating its latest expansion, Uber is offering free rides to all Gujranwala residents who can enjoy five free rides up to Rs350 each between May 11 and May 14. To avail the free rides, residents will need to enter the promo code ‘UBERLOVESGUJPK’ before booking.

Uber, which started its service in 2009, is now available in 450+ cities in over 75 countries spanning six continents. The service made inroads in the Pakistani market in 2015.
