TENNIS: Kvitova to lead Czechs in Fed Cup

Czechs will face a Kim Clijsters led Belgium in Charleroi on April 16.

PRAGUE: World number 18 Petra Kvitova will lead the Czech women’s tennis team in the Fed Cup semi-final tie against Belgium in Charleroi on April 16 and 17, announced team captain Petr Pala. She also named world number 31 Lucie Safarova, Iveta Benesova (46) and Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova (50) in the team to face Belgium, who will most probably be led by Kim Clijsters. “I believe it will be a good team,” said Pala, although he added that Belgium was “definitely the favourite.”
