Helping those in need: MCCI distributes 100 wheelchairs

MCCI member says jobs will be provided to the differently abled persons in local industry

MULTAN: Begum Sidra Khalid Cheema, member of Executive Committee of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Tuesday distributed wheelchairs among the differently abled persons on the recommendations of Society for Special Persons.

Multan Chamber organised wheelchairs distribution ceremony under the umbrella of Community Based Society for differently abled persons. Speaking on the occasion, she said jobs would be provided to the differently abled persons in local industry to make them useful citizens of the country.



Headcount: Disabled want to be counted in upcoming census

Since the establishment of Multan Chamber, a tradition of help has been followed by distribution of wheelchairs. “We are thankful to Allah Almighty for providing us the opportunity to help of those in needs, as much as we can do within our capacity. We have been able to distribute 100 wheelchairs, a local community member Syed Ijaz Shah said while speaking on the occasion.

The participants lauded the efforts and services of MCCI.

Atif Akram, who lost his legs in an accident, said MCCI has done a great job by helping out people with disabilities. Aqsa Asif, another participant, also thanked the organisers for distributing wheel chairs. MCCI President Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said in his message that he felt very humble to be part of such services and playing his part in doing any good he could. The ceremony was attended by persons with disabilities, their parents and local community members.
