Starting now: Police assures Lahore will be safer

LAHORE: Lahore police are working day and night to deal with crime activities and make the city a safer place for the citizens, said SP Investigations Karar Hussain.

He was speaking at a press conference held at the Akbari Gate police station on Tuesday. Investigations and Operations Police City Division claimed to have arrested 16 suspects, including three women involved in cases of robbery, theft and attempted murder, said SP Operations Adil Memon. Speaking on the occasion, Karar said that Shahdara Investigations police arrested three members of a gang of robbers called Daiya Burglars.

Police detain 60 people for questioning

They were identified as Shahzad, Farooq, Ali Raza and Shahzad. Around 70 mobile phones, 50 SIMs cards, one SIM activation machine, three pistols, gold ornaments and Rs992,000 were confiscated from them.  They also arrested a proclaimed offender named Mushtaq alias Mushtaqi for killing a man during a robbery.
