Sheer frustration: Two girls commit suicide in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: At least two girls committed suicides in separate incidents in Faisalabad on Monday.

A police official said 18-year-old Sonia Shabbir, resident of Chak No-293, and 22-year-old Amina Nawaz, hailing from Chak No-342, consumed poisonous pills over domestic disputes. He added, “The girls had an argument with their parents and family members and ended their lives in sheer frustration.” The bodies of both the girls were shifted to hospital for legal formalities.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) destroyed 990 litres of sub-standard milk, seized from various parts of the city. A PFA spokesperson said the PFA teams checked 110 vehicles carrying milk and found 14 of them were carrying poor quality milk.
