Football: Bayern boss set for spending spree

MUNICH: Bayern Munich’s new coach Jupp Heynckes will have €60 million to spend on talent before the new season starts.

Heynckes, 65, will have the resources to strengthen his squad to bring some silverware to the Bavarian giants next season, according to German daily Bild. “We will spend what we have to. Whatever is needed will be available,” said Bayern President Uli Hoeness.

With current coach Louis van Gaal’s contract to be terminated at the end of the season, Bayern are facing a season without titles.
