“HEC has banned the operations of Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS), Lahore from offering further admissions with effect from April 2017 onwards at all levels/degree programmers,” read an advertisement published in newspapers on Sunday. “Parents, students and public in general are advised not to take admission in this institution.”

HEC defends move to end 2-year BA
The Commission further said it will not recognise degrees awarded to students by the educational institute from April 2017.
When ICBS administration was approached by The Express Tribune to seek their views on the development, they refused to comment.
Meanwhile, in a message posted on its website, the ICBS said it was in the “process of upgradation as per directions of regularity bodies”. It said only new student intakes from April 2017 have been stopped until the completion of “upgradation process”, however, existing students will not be affected with this student alert.
“Their degrees verification and attestations by HEC will not be affected,” the statement said, adding it was part of the procedure to stop new intakes until the upgrade process in completed as directed by the regulatory bodies.
