The dilapidated roads in the rural outback of Battagram are nothing more than mud tracks and are a leading cause of fatal car accidents in the area every now and then.
While authorities pay little heed to provide better link roads, two girls died and four others were injured when a jeep fell into a deep gorge at Battangi Village.

Police said that Nambar Jan was returning home along with his family in his jeep when he apparently lost control of the vehicle while driving over a bad patch of the track. The vehicle swerved off the road to plunge into a roadside gorge.
Jan’s minor girls, Rabia and Sajida, died on the spot, while four other girls were critically injured.
Locals rescued the injured and rushed them to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital in Battagram for treatment.
A large number of people of the area and political leaders participated in the funeral prayers of the two girls.
