Tremors felt in K-P, parts of Punjab

The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 5.5 on the Richter scale

Tremors were felt in Peshawar and other areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) as well as some parts of Punjab on Saturday.

The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 5.5 on the Richter scale.

Besides Peshawar, Swat, Landi Kotal and other areas of K-P, the tremors were also felt in Punjab's Chakwal and its adjoining areas.

Earthquake tremors felt in parts of Karachi

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Islamabad said the earthquake occurred at 2:52 pm.  The epicentre of the earthquake was located in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region. The depth of the quake was 388 kilometres. The PMD said no casualties or other losses were reported.

On Friday, a 5.8 earthquake had struck northern Tajikistan near the border with Kyrgyzstan. The quake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres and registered strong shaking near the epicentre.
